The Bell UH-1N Twin Huey (later Bell CH-135 Twin Huey) is a medium military helicopter, and a member of the Huey family, with its maiden flight in 1969. The initial design for the Bell CH-135 was proposed for a requirement of the Canadian Forces, under the CUH-1N Twin Huey name, however soon the Canadian Forces adapted a new designation system, under which the aircraft received the CH-135 Twin Huey reference. The design was derived from the Bell 205, from which Bell created the 212. The Bell 212 had an extended fuselage, and was utilising a modified Pratt & Whitney PT6T-3/T400 Turbo Twin Pac engine. Deliveries for the Bell CH-135 Twin Huey commenced in early 1971, with 50 aircrafts purchased by the Canadian Forces.
