Goodwood 2012 Aviation Exhibition Launch

2012 saw Red Box International and Goodwood join forces to bring you the Goodwood Festival Of Speed Aviation Exhibition, now the dust has settled and we can look back at the first official year of the event.

The exhibition was located within the Festival of Speed’s stunning Goodwood Parkland site offering an incredible showcase of modern aircraft, innovative new designs, dedicated military and civilian areas, aircraft parts, pilot stores, air displays, pleasure flights and much more. Goodwood Aviation was represented by their own flying school, Boultbee Flight Academy and Ultimate High. The goodwood flying school have reported an exceptional response to their efforts at the exhibition, highlighting that we really could introduce a new audience and customer base to aviation.

With aircraft and cars on display by Pilatus, Piper, Waco Classics, Slone Helicopters, Oryxjet, Cessna, Jet Fly, Hawker Beechcraft, Aura Aviation, Diamond Aircraft and Phoenix Helicopters, not only were aircraft and cars sold, but reports of strong ongoing leads are extremely positive. We will keep you up to date on this and more via the Red Box International Facebook page. Like our page by clicking here

Even though the weather was not always on our side the visitor numbers where in excess of 187,000 with over 4500 people flying in. The Thursday aviation tickets alone saw an additional 5000 people visiting this year.

Being away from the aerodrome involved landing the aircraft in a field previously known as the ‘flying field’ from where Freddie March used to take off before World War II. From here they were taken to the main exhibition area which was a popular addition to the Festival of Speed.

“The position of our stand was good and we had good support by Goodwood and Red Box. Well organised, everybody helpful and we had a good quality chalet. We had good quality visitors during the event.”

Henrik Burkal – Diamond Aircraft

“Garmin had a good experience at the event this year, our stand was a popular draw for the huge numbers of incoming people at Goodwood and was a great opportunity to show the full range of Garmin’s products and capabilities. The Part 25 G5000 system was of course the highlight but we also had lots of interest in retrofit products, especially the NEW award winning GTN system. Over the 4 days we had a number of qualified buyers and with such great products we always relish the opportunity to showcase them to Pilots, Aircraft Owners and Operators.”

Trevor Pegrum – Garmin
