The Sikorsky H-34 (designated S-58 by the company) is a piston-engined military helicopter, originally designed as an anti-submarine warfare (ASW) aircraft by Sikorsky. The original design for the S-58 was derived from the S-55 model, developed with a lenghtened fuselage and tail-dragger landing gear. Productions commenced in the mid 1950s, with the first models entering service under the U.S. Navy. The S-58 was also utilised as a commercial aircraft later, used as VIP transport, search and rescue and more. The S-58T was a later variant aimed at the commercial market, installed with the advanced Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T-3 twin-pac turboshaft engine.
