The original Beechcraft Model 400, also known as Beechjet 400 has been is a light business jet, produced based on the design of the Diamond II executive jet by Mitsubishi. The design had been purchased and used to build the Beechjet 400, which was a small low-winged aircraft with all-metal construction. The most significant new aspect was the computer-designed supercritical airfoil, with Pratt & Whitney Canada JT15D engines mounted on the rear fuselage, improving performance tremendously. A later variant was the 9-passenger Hawker 400XP, produced since 2003.
