The Gulfstream IV (also known as G-IV or GIV) is a family of twinjet business jet aircrafts, developed and manufactured by Gulfstream Aerospace in collaboration with Grumman. Similarly to the predecessing Gulfstream III, which the IV was derived from, designs came about as an aspiration to create an aerodynamically more effective wing, in order to improve overall aircraft performance and reduced weight. On the ground of these changes, the Gulfstream IV’s range was extended with over 300 nmi. Another signifiant innovation was the all-glass cockpit, used for the first time in the history of business jets. The G400 designation was given to a later variant with an expanded cabin, offering the same design as previously, and ensuring luxurious comfort for passengers.
