General Dynamics Convair 640

The Convair CV-580 was an airliner, based on the original Convair CV-240 commercial model, manufactured between 1947 and 1954. The general characteristics of these aircrafts inlcude twin-engine, low-wing monoplane configuration with all-metal construction. The aircraft had a pressurized cabin with 30 seats for passengers, which was later developed into the CV-340 with a longer fuselage, accomodating for additional seats. Convair derived their CV-640 model from the CV-340 and CV-440, installing the aircraft with twin Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines powering four-bladed propellers, which were installed and modified by Convair themselves.
