The Convair CV-580 was an airliner, based on the original Convair CV-240 commercial model, manufactured between 1947 and 1954. The general characteristics of these aircrafts inlcude twin-engine, low-wing monoplane configuration with all-metal construction. The aircraft had a pressurized cabin with 30 seats for passengers, which was later developed into the CV-340 with a longer fuselage, accomodating for additional seats. Convair based their CV-600 model on the CV-240, and completed the conversion themselves for this aircraft. The CV-600 received Rolls-Royce Dart turboprop engines, and was utilised as a passenger airliner by a number of U.S. based companies.
