Embraer E195 (ERJ-195)

The Embraer E-Jet family is a series of narrow-body twinjet commercial airliners, produced by Embraer. For the initial model, Embraer choose to pursue the clean-sheet EMB 170 design, rather than further developing their ERJ 145 aircraft to compose the new 70-seat EMB 170 jetliner, later re-designated E170. The design comprised of a twin engine arrangement with General Electric CF34-8E powerplants, and utilising the “double bubble” format to facilitate for a stand-up cabin. The fuselage was stretched further to compose the new E195 model, which offered seating for up to 146 passengers, and was powered by the more advanced Pratt & Whitney PW1921G engines. Along with its conuterpart, the E190, the E195 was a strong competitor for aircraft such as the Bombardier CRJ-1000, Boeing 717 or the Airbus A318.
