DeHavilland Dhc-2 Beaver

The de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver is a single-engined aircraft with STOL performance manufactured by De Havilland Canada. Originally powered by a Pratt & Whitney R-985 Wasp Junior radial engine, this was mounted as far rearward as possible to improve performance and accessibility for maintenance. After its introduction in 1948, the aircraft rapidly became a success, primarily as a bush plane, while also being commonly used in other areas due to its versatility and construction, adapting well to weather conditions. Uses for the DHC-2 Beaver included cargo and civil transport, private aerial application, as well as a floatplane after a number of aircrafts were fitted with floats. Plane & Pilot describes the DHC-2 Beaver as being “arguably the best bush plane ever built”.
