DeHavilland Dh104 Dove

The de Havilland DH104 Dove is a British, allmetal, short-haul airliner, announced in the late 1940’s as the successor of the Dragon Rapide. De Havilland proposed the new design following the Brabazon Committee report which, shown demand for a British-designed STOL aicraft. The DH104 Dove’s concept was required to be competitive with the earlier military transport aircraft, as there were an excessive amount of these due to the end of the Second World War. The DH104 Dove was installed with other innovations of the time, including constant-speed propellers, flaps, and a retractable tricycle landin gear.
