DeHavilland Cc-138 Twin Otter

The De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter, now known as the Viking Air DHC-6 Twin Otter, is a 19-passenger utility aicraft with STOL performance. The development of the new line started in 1964, with designs based on the predecessing single-engine DHC-3. The line became popular in several sectors, such as medevac aircraft, commuter passenger or cargo airliner, and often used for skydiving. The succes came by as a result of the the DHC-6 Twin Otter’s fixed tricycle undercarriage, twin Pratt & Whitney PT6A-20 turboprop engines and high rate of climb. The CC-138 Twin Otter was designated to the Canadian Foces as a search and rescue aircraft, derived from the DHC-6 Series 300.
