Comac C919

The Comac C919 is a  twin-engine narrow-body airliner, designed and developed by Comac. The aircraft is presently in the floght testing stage, with the first production deliveries forecasted for 2021. Development for the Comac C919 commenced in 2008, with the overall design bearing some resembalnce to the competitor Airbus A320. While mainly constructed of aluminium alloys, the aircraft will also feature elements of composite material construction, this excludes the supercritical wings. Advanced avionics are predicted to be utilised by the C919, however it has not yet been confirmed which powerplants will be fitted, with Comac currently considering the CFM International LEAP-1C and the ACAE CJ-1000A engines. The Comac C919 is forecasted to prove a strong competitor for the Boeing 737 MAX and Airbus A320neo.
