Cessna U-206 Stationair

The Cessna U206 was a dedicated utility aircraft, the “U” standing for utility, derived from the original model Cessna 206. To allow for easy loading of oversized cargo, the new U206 was equipped with a pilot side door and large clamshell rear door, these serving the back two rows of seats. The model was titled “Stationair” in 1970, a contraction of “Station Wagon of the Air”, which was an accurate representation of the intended purpose. To improve performance, in 1977 the U206’s engine had been upgraded to a Continental IO-520-F, as the original model was powered by a Continental IO-520-A.
