Boeing 777

The Boeing 777 (commonly known as the Triple Seven) is a wide-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Boeing’s largest twinjet was developed to replace older airliners, as well as the fill the gap between the larger 747 quadjet and smaller 767. In order to compose an appropriate design, Boeing seeked customer input, subsequently involving 8 airliner companies in the initial surveys and studies. The finalised configuration featured a glass cockpit, fly-by-wire control encompassed in a fairly basic airframe. The aircraft was available with several cabin configurations, seating up to 440 passengers. The first production model, the 777-200 entered service under United Airlines in 1995.
