Boeing 737

The Boeing 737 was a 124-seat twinjet aircraft manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Boeing visualized the first plan for the 737 in 1964, this model was designated the name Boeing 737-100, first flown in 1967. At the time, Boeing had aimed to offer the aircraft due to higher demands of a 50+ passanger aircraft, as well as to compliment the Boeing 727 on shorter journeys. The company added the lighter 737-200 variant a year later. These first models were powered by two Pratt & Whitney JT8D engines, mounted on the underside of the wings to allow for a lighter structured fuselage. The 737 went on to become the highest-selling commercial aircraft until 2019, however maintaining the record in total deliveries to this day.
