The Beechcraft 36 Bonanza is a derivative of the predecessing Beechcraft 33 Debonair. To create the new 36 Series design in 1968, Beechcraft had extended the fuselage of the 33 Debonair, to allow for additional seats and passenger windows, as well as using a more powerful engine. The Beechcraft A36 was introduced in 1970, with upgraded interior and a more advanced and effective fuel system. From 1984, the models manufactured were powered by the Continental IO-550-BB engine.
