Agusta A119

The AgustaWestland AW119 Koala, is an single-engine utility helicopter, produced initially by Agusta for the civil transport market. In the 1970s, Agusta proposed to develop a lenghtened version of the A109 model, however the plans for this aircraft were discountinued. The design was re-visited in 1994, following the company’s recovery from a series of financial struggles, and had eventually commenced production in 2000 as the Agusta A119. The helicopter is powered by a Pratt & Whitney PT6B-37A engine, is installed with rectractable landing gear, while maintaining the same cockpit and cabin as the A109. The Agusta A119 was a more affordable, yet still efficient and reliable aircraft compared to the predecessing model, becoming a success with productions aongoing to this day.
